Store oils in a dark tinted bottle to prevent oxidization, and store in a dark, cool place. (cool, but not in refrigerator). Olive oil is full of vitamin A & E and polyphenols. It is a rich source of minerals, anti-oxidants, and essential fatty acids.
- soak nails in a dish of olive oil for 30 min. - massage into hands & cuticles
- gently massage into face, then wipe off with a warm wash cloth put on damp skin after shower or bath
- use as a make-up remover
- use as a shaving oil; it provides excellent lubrication
- mix with some sea salt for a body scrub
- use as an all over body moisturiser
- good for minimizing the appearance of stretch marks
- use as a deep conditioning treatment for hair. rub into your hair & massage your scalp. Cover your head with a shower cap & wrap with a towel. Leave on for 30 to 60 min, then wash. (I read about this method, several years ago. I tried it one time and would not recommend it if you have a naturally oily scalp and unprocessed hair. Maybe it works for someone with dry or damaged hair. It left me with a greasy mess. Personally I prefer coconut oil or jojoba oil, as they seem to absorb better.)
The use of olive oil dates back prior to 3500 BC, but here are four unique ways to use olive oil, in a way that our ancestors probably never thought of.
